Additional driver
When renting a vehicle only the main driver is insured to drive, therefore if you require a second person to drive, you will need to add an additional driver to your rental.
The Additional Driver charge is to ensure that the second driver is covered under the same agreement as the main driver, however if you take the Premium Cover package you will get a free Additional Driver.
The additional driver needs to adhere to all the same terms and conditions as the main driver
How to book an Additional Driver
- An additional driver can be booked during your reservation process, by selecting the Additional Driver request box which is located on the right hand side of the booking engine under Optional Accessories
- Book an additional driver via our call centre or add to an existing reservation, by calling 0844 581 0147

£10 including VAT per day per driver / £8.33 (excl VAT) per day, (with a maximum charge of 10 days per driver, or £100 per rental, per driver)
Young Driver
£30.00 (incl VAT) per day, £25.00 (excl VAT) per day. This applies to underage drivers aged between 23-25 years. |

For Italian rentals, the additional driver is only legal to drive within Italy. If the car is taken outside of Italy only the main driver is insured to drive.
Calculate weekly charge plus additional daily charges for 8-11 day rentals
Drivers must be at least 25 years and have a driving licence for at least 1 year
Young Driver fee is EUR 13.50 per day with a maximum charge of EUR 135.00

Additional Driver must be at least 25 years of age. Must have a valid passport and return flight ticket if the driver resides outside the US, Canada, Puerto Rico, or the US Virgin Islands.
Fee: California = None
Nevada Locations = $5.00 per day, per additional driver (no max)
New York Locations = $3.00 per day, per additional driver (no max)
All other Locations = $9.00 per day, per additional driver, with a maximum of $45.00 per driver per rental.
